Stephenville, TX – [February 27, 2025] – Architexas, a leading architectural firm specializing in innovative regional design, is proud to announce the groundbreaking of La Paloma, a new gated community in Stephenville. With a focus on sustainability, this project will bring 350 single-family rental homes to the area, with site construction starting in March of 2025 and construction for Phase One set to begin in the Fall.

La Paloma will feature 294 one-, two-, and three-bedroom single-family homes, 56 three-bedroom townhomes, and 23 exclusive guest houses available only to residents. Architexas, serving as the architect of record, is overseeing the full architectural and interior design services for this exceptional development. Led from our San Antonio office, the project is designed in the timeless Spanish Revival style with authentic details and regional materials, creating a unique sense of place while using advanced building systems to meet the needs of convenience and modern living.

“Our goal with La Paloma is to create a community that not only provides authentically beautiful, functional homes but also fosters a healthy, sustainable, enriching environment for residents,” said John Allender, Principal at Architexas. “We are honored to be working with Cole Gilliam Parks and the entire Chisolm Trail team on this important development and excited to see it come to life in Stephenville. The project is a perfect example of our firm’s commitment to blending architectural excellence with environmental responsibility.”

The La Paloma community will offer a wealth of amenities designed to enhance residents’ daily lives, including a leasing center with co-working facilities and a clubhouse featuring a fitness center, pool, community room, mail center, and a bodega offering ready-to-eat meals and essential groceries. Additionally, the development will include pocket parks throughout the neighborhood, a central lawn for picnics and gatherings, a dog park, playgrounds, and 7.5 miles of trails for hiking and biking.

Sustainability is a central focus of the project. The site is organized around a series of green belts and rain gardens designed to filter stormwater runoff and reduce the impact of the development on the surrounding properties. These features will provide residents with areas for recreation while protecting the water quality of the North Bosque River. Additionally, the design integrates materials and building systems focused on improving indoor air quality and promoting energy efficiency. These green initiatives will reduce the environmental impact and promote healthy lifestyles, aligning with Architexas’ dedication to community-focused, environmentally-responsible architecture.

Cole Gilliam Parks, owner of La Paloma, says, “The team at Architexas has been nothing short of spectacular on this project. From their initial design consulting, ongoing coordination with consultants, vendors, and various government entities; through design development, John Allender, Nick Melde, Delia Meave and their Architexas team have been an invaluable resource every step of the way. Without their support, I’m not sure my team and I at Chisholm Trail would have had the vision and expertise needed to bring such an incredible community to life on this unique property.”
