Bastrop County Courthouse
Bastrop, Texas
The Bastrop County Courthouse was constructed in 1884 and is listed in the National Register of Historic Places. The historic courthouse was significantly altered in 1923 into a Spanish Mission Revival design with a stucco finish and metal clad clock/bell tower.
In 2017, Architexas was hired to provide a courthouse complex master plan, and to provide assistance applying for emergency grant funding under the National Park Service Emergency Fund for Hurricane Harvey Disaster Assistance. The County was awarded two grants for a total of $500,000 to complete emergency repairs due to the 2017 hurricane. Architexas prepared construction documents and construction administration services for the following scope of work: Courthouse tower restoration and framing repairs, structural/masonry repairs and plaster abatement at the jail. Additionally, Architexas has aided the county in applying to the Texas Historic Courthouse Preservation Program (THCPP).
