Centennial Building

Fair Park, Dallas, Texas
Architexas provided full architectural and preservation services for the restoration of the Centennial Building located on the Esplanade Fair Park Fairgrounds in Dallas. Phase I included comprehensive water management plan and roof replacement which included ornamental metal and historic window/clerestory restoration. Phase II included the complete restoration of the exterior and improvements to the interior. Phase III included interior painting and portico access.

The project is the recipient of awards from Preservation Dallas and Preservation Texas. The Centennial Building is an important historical building, contributing to one of Texas’ most historically significant sites. Chosen as the location of the 1936 Texas Centennial Exposition, the Fairgrounds contain the largest number of Art Deco exposition building still existing in the United States. The Centennial Building has a prominent location flanking the northeast side of the Esplanade of State. In addition to its important role in the Exposition, the Centennial Building was one of the original structures at the Fairgrounds.
