Hood County Courthouse
Granbury, Texas
Architexas provided a phased restoration master plan, architectural plans and specifications as a sub-consultant for HDR, Inc. for this historic W.C. Dodson designed county courthouse. The interior of the courthouse has been designed to relieve the overcrowded work and court environment. In addition to the functional needs analysis, a detailed survey and analysis was conducted to determine existing physical conditions of the site; exterior and interior.
In order to restore the historic courtroom, the structure of the bell tower was modified. The courtroom, along with other public spaces were restored and upgraded with modern mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems. The courthouse is designed to house County Commissioners hearings, administration and county courthouse functions. Architexas also prepared a Master Plan and Historic Structures Report that met the guidelines of the Texas Historic Courthouse Preservation Program (THCPP).
