Mercantile Art Collection

Architexas provided historic preservation consultation and architectural services related to the conservation of the Dallas Mercantile Art Collection. Completed in 1958 and installed in the Mercantile Dallas Building under the direction of artist Millard Sheets, the collection was threatened with destruction by the demolition of the Mercantile Dallas Building in 2002.
Architexas facilitated the removal of the art with funding from Tim Headington and coordinated with Van Enter Studios to conserve and restore the art for re-installation in the Joule Hotel. The installation of the restored art was completed in 2014.
