As Phase 1 of the campus project wrapped up with the completion of the Waxahachie City Hall Annex in 2023, the City of Waxahachie asked Architexas to re-envision the existing city hall.
After performing their due diligence, Architexas discovered that the 2000 addition to the City Hall not only did not meet current codes but also suffered from moisture intrusions.Architexas worked with the contractor to vet multiple options to repair or replace the addition. The City of Waxahachie decided to replace the addition with a new version to house the utility billing, district clerk, and city marshal departments. Architexas’ design includes a multi-use council chamber that doubles as a municipal court, among other civic functions.
Architexas’ design for the addition was able to solve the life safety, security, and circulation issues from the previous addition all while providing more parking on the site. Architexas also creatively found a solution to rehabilitate the historic city hall building and reuse the second floor that had been relegated to storage for decades.
