Cass County Courthouse

In 2003, Architexas updated the Cass County Master Plan completed in 2000 to bring it into compliance with the Secretary of the Interior’s Standards for the Rehabilitation of Historic Buildings. Architexas worked with volunteers from the Cass County Conservancy who conducted extensive research and documentation of the building’s history. All of the information gathered was used to create a design approach for the building’s rehabilitation and to develop a cost estimate for that approach. In 2008, Architexas assisted the county in preparing a grant application for the Texas Historic Courthouse Preservation Program of the Texas Historical Commission. The County was awarded a planning grant of $340,000 and a construction grant for $4.4 million. After updating programming in 2008, bid documents were issued in 2009, and the courthouse commenced its construction phase. Architexas provided preservation architectural services ensuring the work was completed in accordance with the guidelines set forth by the THCPP.
