Architectural Intern - Dallas

Architexas – Dallas is seeking a full-time Architectural Intern with the following qualifications:

  • Professional degree in architecture
  • 1 to 3 years relevant work experience
  • Proficiency in Revit 2015 and AutoCAD 2015 or higher
  • Self-motivated and eager to learn
  • Strong personal communications skills
  • Ability to convey design concepts clearly through various sketch and/or graphic formats
  • Competence in SketchUp, Photoshop, InDesign and the Microsoft Office Suite
  • Willingness to work hard and have fun in a creative, collaborative work environment

Architectural Intern - Austin

Architexas – Architecture, Planning and Historic Preservation, Inc. is a mid-size architectural firm with offices in Dallas and Austin that provides architecture, planning and urban design services, and is recognized nationally for award-winning preservation projects.

Architexas Austin is seeking a full-time Architectural Intern, beginning immediately, with the following qualifications:

+ Professional degree in architecture; advanced degree or strong interest in historic preservation is a plus.

+ 3-5 years of experience working in an architectural firm.

+ Proficiency using Revit and AutoCAD 2015 or higher for drawing and drafting is required.

+ Competence in Sketch-up, Adobe Creative Suite, InDesign, MS Office and MS Project is a required.

+ Experience in HABS documentation or converting measured field drawings into CAD drawings is a plus.        Good hand drafting/drawing skills for legibility of field survey work.

+ Good writing/communication skills.

+ Conscientious, detail oriented, desire to learn and take on new responsibilities.

+ Must be willing to accompany project manager(s) on site visits; some travel may be required. Must also       be willing to communicate with clients by phone, in person, etc.

+ Available for full time employment.

+ Experience in field measuring and converting measured drawings into CAD drawings is required.

Architectural Preservation Specialist - Austin

Architexas Austin is seeking a talented and self-motivated candidate for a key historic preservation position to support ongoing and upcoming preservation projects.  This position will include organization and compilation of Master Planning Reports for numerous historic courthouses in the State of Texas.  The position will involve historic research, supporting project managers in the assessment and preparation of condition assessment of building structures and materials, building code and ADA review, programming, cost estimating, etc. We are seeking a full-time Architectural Preservation Specialist, beginning immediately, with the following qualifications:

+ Professional degree in Architecture and or Historic Preservation.

+ 2-5 years professional experience working in an architectural firm specializing in historic preservation, a State Historic Preservation Office or similar.

+ Knowledge and experience working with the Secretary of the Interior’s Standards for the Treatment of Historic Properties

+ Excellent writing, communication, and organizational skills.

+ Proficiency using InDesign, Photoshop, and Microsoft Suites.  AutoCAD 2015 or higher for drawing and drafting is desirable.
