Stagecoach Inn Relocation & Restorations

Round Rock, Texas

The Stagecoach Inn, constructed in the mid-1850’s, is one of the oldest buildings in the City of Round Rock, Texas. It was built to service the stagecoach route from San Antonio to Waco, and is situated on a hilltop at the intersection of Round Rock Avenue and Chisholm Trail Road. To make way for the new RM 620 improvements, the Historic Preservation Commission and the City of Round Rock decided the building would need to be relocated off site. Architexas has been hired by the City of Round Rock to develop a preservation strategy and provide full architectural services. The Stagecoach Inn was moved in April of 2018, and permanently relocated a quarter mile off site to a park development along the Chisholm Trail, where it will undergo partial restoration.
