Jay Firsching, Historic Preservation Specialist and office Top Chef, has been promoted to Senior Associate. Jay serves a variety of roles for the firm and our clients. His work involves everything from the evaluation and documentation of historic resources to assisting clients in navigating complex government reviews and obtaining financial incentives. His diverse body of work has been recognized with awards from Preservation Dallas, Preservation Texas, The National Trust for Historic Preservation and the American Society of Landscape Architects.

In honor of his recent promotion, we sat down with Jay for a quick Q&A….

Q: Where are you from?

A: Houston

Q: Where did you go to school?

A: Texas A&M and UT Austin

Q: Favorite Building in Dallas?

A: My brain just exploded

Q: First thing you did when you arrived to the office this morning?

A: Honestly, answer these questions. After that, research on a building.

Q: Most interesting project you’ve worked on?

A: One Main Place because of the significant relationship to city planning.

Q: Tacos or BBQ?

A: Tacos. BBQ is just one of  a thousand different fillings you can put in a taco, so…

A: Cooking, DIY almost anything, camping/fishing and bootlegging with my new whiskey distillery
