Fair Park

Dallas, Texas
Fair Park is a National Historic Landmark site containing the largest collection of Art Deco buildings in the U.S. In 1997, Architexas was commissioned by the Dallas Park and Recreation Department to prepare a Master Plan for the Esplanade, Automobile, and Centennial Buildings at Fair Park.

The plan identified $32 million in construction costs to restore and reconstruct the “missing elements,” those small-scale elements such as flags, lights, and furnishings that gave the 1936 Texas Centennial Exposition its character. Seven phases of work have been completed to date. The master plan was later integrated into the Fair Park Comprehensive Development Plan, completed in 2003, with Hargreaves & Associates.

Architexas has worked on historical research, historic preservation, and architecture services for the Centennial Building, Tower Building, and Automobile Building. Architexas has also developed reconstruction plans for the Ford Building.
