Preservation Dallas hosted the annual Preservation Achievement Awards Ceremony on Wednesday, May 16th. This year over twenty historic properties were awarded, and we are proud to announce that two of our recently completed projects were honored.

First Presbyterian Church of Dallas

First Presbyterian Church of Dallas - Architexas - Restoration

First Presbyterian Church of Dallas - Archtiexas - Interior

The First Presbyterian Church of Dallas is a significant historical, cultural and community landmark, having served its spiritual community and the city as a whole for more than 100 years. Architexas provided architectural and historic preservation services for the interior rehabilitation of the sanctuary to include restoration or reconstruction of character-defining features, finishes and furnishings while accommodating new worship needs and styles of the church.

Factory Six03

Facotry Six03 - Architexas

Architexas, in partnership with GFF Architects, provided historic preservation architectural services to Granite Properties on the rehabilitation of the historic Brown Cracker and Candy Company Building in Dallas’ West End Historic District. Intended to serve as high-end speculative office space, the building was rehabilitated using state and federal tax credits. In addition to preservation architectural services, Architexas provided full tax credit consulting services including guidance of the design team in acceptable rehabilitation practices.

Congratulations to the First Presbyterian Church of Dallas team and the Granite Properties team on being recognized for preserving these significant buildings. We are proud to have been a part of these projects!
